# What URL Love It does & how it works

> URL Love It watches the web pages you care about, takes a snapshot on a schedule, and alerts you the moment something meaningful changes.

URL Love It is a monitoring tool for web pages. You tell it which pages to watch - your own landing pages, a competitor's pricing page, an ad destination - and it visits each one on a schedule, saves a **snapshot** of exactly how the page looked, and compares each new snapshot to the last one. When something meaningful changes, it lets you know.

The point is simple: **you should never be the last to know that an important page changed.** A competitor drops their price, your own checkout button quietly breaks, an ad landing page gets swapped - these things move fast, and URL Love It makes sure you see them.

## The three things it does

* **Captures snapshots.** On your schedule, it takes a full-page image (and the underlying page content) so you have a visual record of what the page looked like that day.
* **Detects changes.** It compares each new snapshot to the previous one and figures out what actually changed - the picture, the wording, the buttons, the underlying structure.
* **Alerts you.** When a change matters, it sends you an alert by email or Slack, scored by how significant it is, so you can act.

## A few words you'll see a lot

## How to get going

1. Add the pages you want to watch (see [Adding your first URLs](/getting-started/adding-urls)).
2. Let URL Love It take its first snapshots - this happens automatically, usually within a few minutes.
3. Choose how often each page is captured and where you want alerts sent.
4. Watch the Changes Feed and your inbox as changes roll in.
